Arjuna in ARJ is cardio tonic, improves contractile power of heart muscles. Improves coronary circulation, Cardio protective, Reduces BP and palpitation. Punarnava reduces congestion, decreases cardiac load and have ACE inhibitor activity. Vacha have ACE inhibitor activity, it dilates blood vessels, increases coronary flow and reduces load on heart.
ARJ Kadha is good medicine for follow-up heart patients as well as an Anupana for heart medicines. Arjuna is the major content of ARJ Kadha. With Kashaya Rasa, Laghu- ruksha Attributes, Shita Virya and Katu Vipaka, Arjuna has Kapha- pitta Shamaka property. With its Dhatugamitwa to Meda, Rakta, Asthi, and Shukra, it improves tone and health of blood vessels, dries up Kleda and Meda and helps breaking samprapti of Hridroga.
Arjuna has Hridya Prabhava, it gives contractile power and nutrition to heart. Vacha is Katu- tikta- Laghu -Ruksha. it is Kapha – Vata Shamaka, Ushna, Medhya and Mutrala. Punarnava is Katu Ushna, Mutrala, Shophahara, Vata- Kapha Nashan and Hridya. Bibhitak is Ushnavirya, Kaphanashak and Kasa- Shwasa Nashaka.
